Wallflower by Samantha Leigh is a small-town romance, a harmonious mix of slow-burn and grumpy/sunshine, The Sports Romance keeps you hooked till the end.

From the first page, this book piqued my interest, and I could not stop myself but getting immersed in the world of Aster Springs.
The Storyline is so engaging that you fall for every character from Violet’s dad to Chord’s teammates at Silver Leaf Ranch.

Violet James working as a Junior Marketing executive for San Francisco FuryHockey Team was not on her list, a dreamer whose dreams to be the next big name in bridal couture were put on hold due to her responsibilities for her depressed dad and leaving behind to chase her dreams would be too selfish and cost her too much.

She was comfortable and satisfied to remain invisible and blend among the crowd.

And who would pay attention to the shy Wallflower who likes to wear oversized coats?

But a certain Hockey Player wants her to be his for the summer.
Chord Davenport is a grumpy, arrogant asshole and needs someone who is not going to throw herself at him and someone who won’t give him any trouble, stay out of his way, and won’t drive him crazy. A certain someone is invisible.

And you know he’s going to eat his words back, when his wallflower assistant moves into his house he built on his family’s California Ranch.

Chord Davenport whose whole focus was meant to be the champion who takes the Cup home before his retirement, now finds himself breaking all the rules to make Violet his.

My Experience With The Book:

I cried twice in this book for a good reason. First, when it addresses what depression does to a person and their loved ones, I admire how the author tackled the issue with a soft landing.

“Dreams cost sacrifice”, Leigh portrayed dreams as two sides of coins.

Chord followed his dreams and put them above everything else even above himself, he was considered selfish, even though he loved and adored his family and always tried to help them whenever they required it.

Whereas, Violet shelved her dreams to take care of her only family, her dad.

She was considered ambitionless but that girl had dreams that shined like the brightest star in the sky, I found myself in Violet, the person who loved her family and was ready to give up her ambitions for them.

Both the assumptions made about them are not completely true.

Chord and Violet test each other’s dimensions and bring positive change to each other. Both were each other’s driving force, driving support.

Chord is such a green flag and Consent King. He is the standard I set for my book-boyfriends. From the start, I started to adore him, He loves his niece like his own daughter and the Family Game Nights were my favorite parts after the pool float part.😉

To find a man like him who supports you on every step of yours, who loves you enough to let you fly and reach that milestone. He brings best in Violet and Violet brings that emotional and loving side of him.

I cannot wait to see more of the Aster Springs Series (Maybe a certain someone with most cutest kid Izzy)

Overall, this book is such a one-click and it needs to be on your TBR, get your hands on Chord and Violet, you are going to have Chord competing in your TOP 5 Book Boyfriends.
